The Erie Gay Business Alliance (EGBA), an affiliate of Erie Gay Pride, Inc.,
is an organization of gay, lesbian,
bisexual, transgender and gay-friendly
businesses, professionals and individuals, who have joined together
to effect
positive growth in ourselves, our work, our community and our
future.
Our broader mission is to
lead the way for development, advocacy and
growth of the GLBT community and its allies. We will accomplish this
through building our small businesses, working with professionals inside
and outside of corporations, supporting our
non-profits and encouraging
the general community to support those who support GLBT rights.
The
EGBA promotes business networking among its members and within
the community at large. This network fosters
a sharing of information,
ideas, contacts, products and services, and also strengthens and
expands our businesses,
careers and our community.
EGBA members are committed to supporting one another and building
trusting
relationships. With evening social and networking events,
educational workshops, candidate nights, dinners, joint activities
with
other organizations and community involvement, the EGBA strives to
connect members of our community and unite
them for success both
personally and professionally.
We plan to maintain close working relationships with
sister organizations
in Cleveland, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and other nearby communities, as well
as with the National
Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) in
Washington, D.C.
We are non-partisan, but will
always remain politically concerned, especially
in regard to health, equality, justice, fairness and the many civil
rights
issues that impact the GLBT community.
