Our Programs
Incorporated in 2006, Erie Gay Pride, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to organizing and supporting the Erie region’s GLBT community. For some time, various individuals within the GLBT community have felt that a lack of cohesiveness and organization was hurting efforts to advance GLBT issues, services and programs in Erie County. Months of discussions, strategy sessions and consultations finally led to the birth of Erie Gay Pride, Inc.
From 2006-2009, Erie Gay Pride, Inc. was the official sponsor of the Erie Pride March and Rally held in Perry Square. In 2009, the organization began to broaden its role in the community. It is our goal to help bring the GLBT community together through other educational programs and informational opportunities designed to strengthen our voice and enhance our image in the region.
In October 2009, Erie Gay Pride, Inc. was granted federal tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In granting the organization’s request for tax-exempt status, the IRS recognized Erie Gay Pride’s mission of providing educational programs and services to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community in the Erie region.
As an official 501 (c) 3 organization, donations made to Erie Gay Pride, Inc. are tax deductible on federal income tax returns. You may mail your donations to Erie Gay Pride, Inc., P.O. Box 8027, Erie, PA 16505.
